The Camden County Board of Commissioners is alerting residents and business owners of an ongoing investigation into fraudulent invoices sent via email by individuals posing as members of the Camden County Planning Board, Director of Public Works, and Director of Planning. In these emails, the individuals involved in the scam are attempting to solicit funds through wire transfer by directing recipients to send payment to illegitimate accounts.
Residents or business owners who receive a suspicious invoice are asked to contact their local police department.
The Camden County Planning Board, as well as all municipal Planning Boards, will not randomly solicit funds through email.
