Chief of Police George Bacorn was killed in a head-on vehicle crash on Dover Road in Easton.
Around 11:26 a.m., Chief Bacorn was traveling eastbound in his agency-owned vehicle when a westbound delivery truck sideswiped another eastbound truck and then struck Chief Bacorn’s vehicle head-on.
The delivery driver was airlifted to a local hospital.
Chief Bacorn served with the Denton Police Department for 36 years, including six years as chief of police. Survivors include his wife, five sons, a sister, thirteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
