Camden County Roadwork Projects

 Several roadway projects will be underway across Camden County during the week of August 3 to August 7. 

“Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

Audubon

Crews will be working on East Atlantic Avenue on Monday, August 3, to Friday, August 7, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be a partial eastbound road closure between West Merchant Street in Audubon and Station Avenue in Haddon Heights.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

The long-term left lane closures on Route 322 eastbound and westbound at mile  post 3.9 will remain in place through Tuesday, August 11 in Logan Township, Gloucester  County.  

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, traffic on Route 322 eastbound and westbound will  be shifted to the right. The traffic shifts are necessary remove construction barrier and reopen  the left lanes in each direction, following the completion of median barrier installation and  guiderail replacement.

Mosquito spraying throughout Camden County

 Early Thursday morning, the Mosquito Control Commission will be in the community spraying and surveilling areas throughout Camden County.

“It’s important for residents to be cognizant of any standing water on their property,” said Commissioner Jeffrey Nash, liaison to the Camden County Mosquito Commission. “Mosquitos need standing water to breed, so you can help keep them off your property by removing water from places like flowerpots and containers. Being proactive has a major impact on the mosquito population and helps the hardworking people at the Camden County Mosquito Control Commission in their efforts.”

WEATHER ALERT FOR NEW JERSEY

(GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ)(July 28, 2026)–According to the Mount Holly National Weather alert, all of New Jersey is under a severe weather alert beginning today, Tuesday, at 2 PM.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 80. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.

·         PSE&G will be working on 2735 Federal Street on Monday, July 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a partial westbound road closure between North 27th Street and Leonard Avenue.

The I-676 southbound Exit 2 ramp to the Walt Whitman Bridge/I-76 westbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured each night Monday, July 27 through Thursday, July 30 as a bridge replacement and paving project advances in Camden and Gloucester City, Camden County.

Beginning at 11 p.m. Monday, July 27 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 28 and continuing each night through Thursday, July 30 at the same time, the I-676 southbound Exit 2 ramp to the Walt Whitman Bridge/I-76 westbound is scheduled to be closed. The closure is necessary to install drainage. The following detour will be in place:

Vigilant Neighbor Observes Car Burglar Attempt

On the morning of July 20, 2026, at approximately 8:37 a.m., Gloucester Township Police responded to a report of a suspicious person checking vehicle door handles in a residential neighborhood.
Thanks to the vigilance of a resident who recognized the suspicious behavior and immediately contacted police, officers arrived within minutes and located the suspect as she exited an unlocked vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody, and property stolen from the vehicle was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.

Wanted: Suspects for Assault in the 17th District [VIDEO]

On July 9, 2026 at approximately 1:55 AM, the two (2) suspects were captured on surveillance video lingering around the McDonald’s parking lot located at 2901 Grays Ferry Avenue. Suspect #1 got into an argument with the victim, at which time suspect # 2 struck the victim, knocking the victim to the ground. The suspects then hit the victim several times until a bystander intervened. While the victim was on the ground, disoriented, the suspects took his food and began to walk away. The victim confronted the suspects, at which time the suspects attacked the victim again. The suspects then walked away, South on 29th Street from Grays Ferry Avenue.

Summer Concert; Christmas In July

Get ready for an unforgettable summer concert featuring Stealing Savanah! Join us for a patriotic drone show and a special appearance by Santa as we celebrate Christmas in July. It’s going to be an evening filled with fun!

The concert will take place on the “Great Lawn” at Connolly Park, located at 605 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043, beginning at 7:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs, relax, enjoy the playground facilities, and have an enjoyable evening with friends and family.
