(Trenton) – The I-676 southbound ramp from Holtec Boulevard eastbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights as a bridge replacement and paving project advances in Camden and Gloucester City, Camden County. In addition, the I-676 northbound ramp from Holtec Boulevard eastbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured Thursday night.

Beginning at 11 p.m. tonight, Monday, June 8 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 9 and continuing on Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10 at the same times, the Holtec Boulevard eastbound ramp to I-676 southbound is scheduled to be closed. The closures are necessary for drainage improvements. The following detour will be in place:

Motorists on Holtec Boulevard eastbound wishing to take the ramp to I-676 southbound will be directed to take the ramp onto I-676 northbound
Take Exit 4/Atlantic Avenue/Kaigns Avenue
Turn left onto Atlantic Avenue
Turn left to take the ramp onto I-676 southbound

In addition, beginning at 11 p.m. Thursday, June 11 until 5 a.m. Friday, June 12, the Holtec Boulevard eastbound ramp to I-676 northbound is scheduled to be closed. The closure is necessary for drainage installation. The following detour will be in place:

Camden County College Gateway Program Gives Students a 2nd Chance

The Gateway to College program at Camden County College will hold its graduation ceremony for 84 students from 11 high schools throughout Camden County.

As a dual credit program, Gateway to College provides a second chance for students who have fallen behind or have dropped out due to personal hardships. The program allows students to earn their high school diploma while also gaining college credit.

“For many of our graduates, Gateway is far more than a program,” said President Pugh-Bassett. “It is an opportunity to overcome obstacles, redefine their paths, and achieve an important milestone: earning their high school diploma.”

Members of the 2026 graduating class have persevered through the challenges of parenthood, housing instability, homelessness, mental health, and more. Despite these obstacles, they completed all necessary requirements to graduate through the Gateway program.

Wear Orange Weekend National Gun Violence Awareness Day Recognized

Today, the Board of Commissioners will join Mayor Victor Carstarphen, New Jersey Moms Demand Action and other community partners to honor National Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Weekend with a resource fair and concert performance by Tank and the Bangas. Gun Violence Awareness Day falls on the first Friday of June each year and Wear Orange Weekend is honored throughout the weekend.

Wear Orange weekend began in 2013 after 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton was shot and killed in Chicago. After her death, her friends and family wore orange – the color hunters wear in the woods to protect themselves and others – in her honor. In the years since, Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Weekend have grown into national movements to honor the countless lives lost and impacted by gun violence in America.

Mary Ann D. Trawka, 73, of Bayville

On May 17, 2026. Age 73, Of Bayville and formerly of Haddon Township and Audubon. Cherished daughter of Joseph Anthony Trawka and Genevieve Dolores (nee Zubrzycki) Trawka. Survived by devoted caregivers. Mary Ann was born in Camden and raised and lived many years in Audubon. She was a graduate of Audubon High School. Mary Ann was a devoted clerk typist for PSEG in Audubon for over 23 years.

Several roadway projects will be underway across Camden County during the week of June 8 to June 12.

“Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

Audubon

Crews will be working on East Atlantic Avenue from Wednesday, June 10, to Friday, June 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be a partial road closure eastbound between East Merchant Street in Audubon and Station Avenue in Haddon Heights.

Camden

New Jersey American Water will be working on Baird Boulevard on Monday, June 8, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a partial southbound road closure between Federal Street and Carmen Street.
Crews will be working on Haddon Avenue from Monday, June 8, to Friday, June 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be lane closures between Market Street and Cooper Street.
Crews will be working on Newton Avenue from Monday, June 8, to Friday, June 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There be full road closure between Chestnut Street and the Kaighn Avenue/South 4^th Street intersection.
Crews will be working on Haddon Avenue from Monday, June 8, to Friday, June 12, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. There will be a northbound partial road closure between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Cooper Plaza.
PSE&G will be working on Kaighn Avenue from Monday, June 8, to Friday, June 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a full road closure between South 7^th Street and South 3^rd Street.
Crews will be working on Haddon Avenue from Monday, June 8, to Friday, June 12, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a full road closure between Newton Avenue and Euclid Avenue.
New Jersey American Water will be working on Marlton Pike on Tuesday, June 9, and Wednesday, June 10, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a full road closure between South 24^th Street and Carman Street.

Philadelphia Phillies Alumni Step Back in the Batter’s Box

Sluggball, the new baseball-inspired competition built around the art of hitting a baseball, will host the 2026 Sluggball All-Star Classic on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Tommy Lasorda Field at Meiklejohn Stadium at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

The inaugural event will feature retired Philadelphia Phillies and Major League Baseball Alumni competing in a fast-paced exhibition designed to introduce fans to Sluggball. The event will be presented as a special on NBC Sports Regional Networks, with multiple encores on NBC Sports Philadelphia, NBC Sports Boston, NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California.
