TSA launches remote screening pilot program at Boston Logan International Airport

On June 1, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) launched its latest initiative to enhance the traveler experience under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Mullin: a first-in-the-nation remote screening option for passengers flying out of Boston Logan International Airport.

In partnership with the Massachusetts Port Authority, TSA has introduced this innovative pilot program with an inaugural remote terminal in Framingham, Massachusetts. Passengers flying out of Boston Logan on JetBlue or Delta flights between 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. are currently eligible for this new experience.

Instead of dealing with traffic at the airport, congestion at the checkpoint, and limited parking, these passengers can instead park at Framingham, check in, go through security, and take a bus directly to the secure side of their terminal.

Sherrill Administration Highlights $130M+ for Historic Site Improvements

In celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary, Environmental Protection Acting Commissioner Ed Potosnak today highlighted more than $130 million in ongoing restoration and visitor improvement projects at state-owned historic sites that have had pivotal roles in New Jersey and American history, spanning from the American Revolution through the Industrial Revolution and beyond. 

Acting Commissioner Potosnak discussed the investments today at the Wallace House Historic Site in Somerville, Somerset County, which is undergoing a $4.3 million restoration and served as General George Washington’s headquarters when the Continental Army encamped at Middlebrook during the winter of 1778-1779. He emphasized the Sherrill Administration’s commitment to ensure visitors are inspired by elements of American history that are uniquely New Jersey. “The determination and resilience of America and her people can be found in the pivotal actions of New Jersey’s contributions from 250 years ago to today,”

Philadelphia Athletes Unite to Welcome FIFA World Cup 2026™ Nations Playing in Philadelphia

Philadelphia athletes across the city are participating in a new initiative to welcome the nine nations set to compete in Philadelphia during the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

The “Philly Match Ball” program includes nine official FIFA match balls, with each ball representing one of the participating nations scheduled to play a group stage match at Philadelphia Stadium. Each squad will receive a ball as a welcome to the city and a celebration of the global game coming to Philadelphia.

To date, the balls have been autographed by Bryce Harper and Trea Turner of the Philadelphia Phillies; Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers; DeVonta Smith and Zack Baun of the Philadelphia Eagles; and Dan Vladar and Sean Couturier of the Philadelphia Flyers. Additional athletes are scheduled to sign the balls ahead of Philadelphia’s first match on Sunday, June 14.

Lorraine Cunningham, 78, of Haddonfield

Lorraine Cunningham of Haddonfield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Philadelphia to the late Thomas and Dorothy Cunningham, Lorraine devoted her life to her family and her community.

She spent 25 years teaching first grade at Saint Peter’s Catholic School in Riverside, where she touched and enriched the lives of countless children and families through her care, warmth, and dedication. She didn’t just live life; she embraced it fully, bringing warmth and joy to everyone lucky enough to cross her path. A proud and active member of the Irish Society, Lorraine was often found dancing and enjoying music with friends. She also took great pride in caring for her grandchildren, cherished her time at the beach, and was a devoted Phillies fan who loved cheering on her team.

Lorraine is lovingly remembered by her children, Heather, James (and his wife, Lottie), and Bethann; her cherished grandchildren, Connor, Luke, and Chloe; and her brother, Thomas (and his wife, Sue), her sisters, Mary and Nancy, and her niece and nephews, whom she loved very much.

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Christ the King Church, 200 Windsor Ave., Haddonfield, NJ 08033. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Visitation will take place from 10 AM to 11 AM with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM. Interment private.

Doctor to Mark 75 Years with Type 1 Diabetes at 40th Annual Golf Fundraiser for T1D

When Donald “Doc” Meltzer, MD, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) on his 12th birthday in January 1951, managing the disease looked very different than it does today.

There were no insulin pumps, no continuous glucose monitors, and no way to check blood sugar levels at home. Instead, patients relied on urine testing, reusable glass syringes, and a daily routine filled with uncertainty.

Today, 75 years later, the Voorhees resident is still thriving.

Meltzer’s remarkable journey reflects both the challenges of living with T1D and the extraordinary advances in treatment, technology, and research that have transformed diabetes care over the past seven decades.

New Jersey American Water Completes Purchase of Montague Sewer & Water Company’s Utility Systems

New Jersey American Water a subsidiary of American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., announced today the completion of its acquisition of Montague Sewer & Water Company’s water and wastewater systems in New Jersey from Nexus Regulated Utilities, LLC, a subsidiary of Nexus Water Group, Inc. (“Nexus Water Group”).   The acquisition adds approximately 810 water and 270 wastewater customer connections
to New Jersey American Water’s footprint. Additionally, New Jersey American Water is welcoming to its operations two employees from Montague Sewer & Water who proudly provide water and wastewater service to these customers.

On May 19, 2025, American Water announced its agreement to acquire Nexus Water Group systems in eight states across the U.S., highlighting benefits for customers and demonstrating the company’s successful implementation of its core growth strategy as it creates value for customers, employees, and shareholders.

Approvals by applicable state regulatory commissions and governmental entities were obtained as of May 21, 2026, and American Water completed the purchase on June 1, 2026.

New Jersey American Water is committed to ensuring a seamless transition for its new customers, who will receive additional information in the mail in the coming weeks. The information is also available now on a new, dedicated webpage on the company’s website under Customer Service and Billing.

New customers will be able to take advantage of New Jersey American Water’s robust customer service benefits, including its online account management portal, MyWater, as well as flexible payment options and customer assistance programs for qualifying customers needing help paying their bills.
