#17 Softball will take on St. Thomas (Texas) to begin the 2026 NCAA Division III Softball Tournament as selections and regional pairings were announced on Monday.

The Profs, who are making its 32nd appearance all time in the national tournament and fourth in as many seasons, will battle the Celts, out of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), at the regional host East Texas Baptist on Thursday. First pitch is slated for 2:30 PM ET/1:30 PM CT (local time). Rowan returns to Marshall, Texas, home of ETBU for the first time since back-to-back appearances in the Division III Championship Tournament in 2023 and 2024. The Profs added a third-straight championship tournament appearance last season and this year look to make it a fourth.
La Salle University inducted 20 students into the Alpha Epsilon Honor Society on April 2, 2026. The Alpha Epsilon Honor Society was instituted at La Salle University in 1936 to recognize “high scholarship in the pursuit of a Lasallian education together with exceptional participation in the extracurricular life of the University.” Since its founding, many of La Salle’s finest alumni have been proudly counted among the Alpha Epsilon ranks.

This annual tribute will once again be held at the Emergency Services Training Center, 53 Academy Drive, Westampton, NJ. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
The Memorial Service brings our law enforcement community together for a day of solemn remembrance. Lt. Colonel David Sierotowicz, Deputy Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, will be our keynote speaker. Burlington County Chief of Detectives Anthony Luyber, as well as Bordentown City Chief of Police Shaun Lafferty, will also speak on behalf of the entire law enforcement community.
Retired police officer and popular dog trainer Perry Parks says that receiving a Stage 3 colon cancer diagnosis was one of the most difficult moments of his life. Today, healthy and grateful, Parks is giving back to the health system he credits with saving him by donating a fully trained security dog to Virtua Health.
The Belgian Malinois, valued at $15,000, recently joined Virtua’s security team. Parks had one heartfelt request: the dog is named Meslin, in honor of Keith Meslin, MD, the Virtua colorectal surgeon who performed his lifesaving robotic surgery.
An Exceptional Gift
“Nothing I faced as a police officer was as daunting as being told I had cancer,” said Parks, 65, of Medford, N.J. “After [colorectal] surgery, Dr. Meslin told me, ‘I just put 30 years in your tank.’ He relieved me of all my worries. He truly gave me a new lease on life.”

Recognizing that early intervention is critical when treating sepsis, the Assembly Health Committee today advanced Bill A1950, following heartbreaking testimony from individuals who shared stories of their own personal experiences with the condition. Known as the Stop Sepsis Act, the legislation would require general and special hospitals licensed in the State to establish protocols for the recognition and treatment of patients with sepsis. The bill, sponsored by Assemblywomen Annette Quijano and Carol Murphy, would also direct hospitals to train staff and establish quality measures.
