Mantua Man Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Sexual Assault and Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material 

WOODBURY, N.J. – Nicholas Bounasis, 41, of the Sewell section of Mantua, pled  guilty to one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and one count of  second-degree distribution of child sexual abuse material before the Honorable  Kevin T. Smith on Monday. 

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in open court:  

Bounasis was arrested on June 27, 2024 following the execution of a search warrant  of his residence by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Unit.  During the search, detectives found devices belonging to Bounasis containing images of child sexual abuse and exploitation, and evidence that Bounasis had sent  those images to other individuals via the internet. Further investigation found Bounasis had sexually assaulted a child under the age of twelve.

Egg Harbor man arrested for promoting prostitution of a minor

Woodbury, NJ – Amir A. Vaughan, 25, of Egg Harbor Township, was charged by
criminal complaint with first-degree promoting prostitution and first-degree
endangering the welfare of a child today, Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns announced.
According to documents filed in this case:
On Dec. 10, 2025, a minor victim reported to the Franklin Township Police Department
she was forced by a man named “Kyro” to perform sexual acts with adult men on four
occasions between April and May 2025. She also reported being forced to record those
interactions so “Kyro” could sell the video content. Through investigations, police were
able to identify “Kyro” as Vaughan, a registered sex offender, which was confirmed by
the victim.

Mount Laurel Man Convicted of Sexually Assaulting Two Young Girls

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that a 55-year-old Camden County man has been convicted of sexually assaulting two young girls over a period of several years.

James Murray, of Cypress Point Circle in Berlin, was found guilty on December 17 of two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault (First Degree), three counts of Sexual Assault (Second Degree), two counts of Endangering the Welfare of Child (Second Degree) and one count of Obscenity to Minors (Third Degree).

Homicide Investigation

The following information is preliminary and subject to change; updates will be provided as they become available. 

On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at approximately 5:03 p.m., a shooting occurred in the 25th District on the 2800 block of North Franklin Street. A 23-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported by medics to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. 

The victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 7:41 p.m.

 At this time, no motive or arrests have been identified. The investigation remains ongoing and is being handled by the Homicide Unit, Philadelphia Police department.

Maryland State Fire Marshal Makes Arrest In Ridgely Arson Case

CAROLINE COUNTY (Dec. 21. 2025) – The Office of the State Fire Marshal has arrested a 26-year-old man following a grand jury indictment for an attempted arson targeting a business in Caroline County.

Deputy State Fire Marshals assigned to the Upper Eastern Region Office served an arrest warrant Friday on Marshall Allan Murphy, of Sudlersville, Maryland. Murphy was indicted on 16 charges, including second-degree arson and three counts of attempted second-degree arson, each punishable by a maximum of 20 years in prison.

Washington Township Man Indicted on Four Counts of Forgery 

Woodbury, NJ – A Gloucester County Grand Jury has indicted Richard Bennett of  Washington Township on four counts of fourth-degree forgery Wednesday. 

The indictment alleges two counts of forgery in violation of NJSA 2C:21-1a(1) and two  counts in violation of NJSA 2C:21-1a(3). Each count carries a maximum penalty of 18  months in state prison. 

According to documents filed in this case: 

Bennett, who was a sitting Washington Township council member, mailed harassing  letters to two members of his local Board of Education in the name of another board  member. 

Defense Counsel: Nicholas J. Yurick of the Law Offices of Andrew N. Yurick. 

The charges against Bennett are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed  innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Wanted: Suspect for Homicide in the 15th District [VIDEO]

The Philadelphia Police Department needs your help:

On Sunday June 23, 2024, at approximately 10:09 pm, police responded to the 4700 block of Griscom Street where the remains of a 22-year-old Caucasian female victim, Anastasiya Stangret, (above) were discovered. The victim had a single gunshot wound to the head, and was in an advanced state of decomposition.

The victim was last seen on video several days prior, in the area of Penn and Arrott Streets in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. Police are seeking the help of the public to identify any potential suspects, or information related to the circumstances of her death.

THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA IS OFFERING A REWARD OF $20,000 LEADING TO AN ARREST AND CONVICTION FOR EVERY HOMICIDE.

Philadelphia Police Investigating the Following Incidents

The following information is preliminary and subject to change. Updates will be provided as they become available.

On Sunday, December 21, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., officers assigned to the 5th District responded to a radio call at 5xx Wartman Street for a stabbing at the residence. Upon arrival, officers located a 57-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to the rib area. Officers immediately transported the victim to Jefferson–Einstein Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 10:19 a.m. A 16-year-old female was taken into custody for further investigation. The investigation remains ongoing with the Homicide Unit.

Gloucester Township Man Charged in SNAP Fraud Scheme

Camden County, NJ – A Gloucester Township man has been arrested and charged for using
stolen identities to fraudulently obtain thousands of dollars in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance
Program (SNAP) benefits, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.
Andre Streater, 36, was charged with one count each of 2nd -degree Identity Theft, 3rd-degree
Forgery, 3rd-degree Theft by Deception, and 4th-degree Possession of Fraudulent Receipts.
In July 2025, the Camden County Board of Social Services alerted the Camden County
Prosecutor’s Office to numerous SNAP applications submitted under different individuals using
the same residential address and phone number.

Sykia Harper-Brown Convicted of Weapons and Terroristic Threats Charges 

Woodbury, NJ – A jury found Sykia Harper-Brown guilty of second-degree possession of  weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and  third-degree terroristic threats. She faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in state  prison on each of the weapons charges and a maximum of five years for the terroristic  threats charge. 

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in open court: 

Harper-Brown traveled from Pennsylvania to Monroe Township on Nov. 4, 2023, armed  with a 9mm handgun and a baseball bat. Prior to the incident, she exchanged heated  text and Facebook messages with the victim, her sister-in-law, including threats. Harper-Brown went to the victim’s residence, banged on the door, and demanded the  victim come to the door. While the victim’s fiancé called 911, Harper-Brown retreated to  her vehicle and fired the handgun into the air from the sidewalk. Officers later located a  shell casing in the area.
