Wanted: Suspect for Burglary in the 9th District [VIDEO]

Central Detective Division is seeking the public’s help identifying the individual seen in the following video clips.

On Friday, December 12, 2025, at approximately 7:25AM, an unknown black male gained entry to a shop in the Christmas Village by forcing open a side door. Once inside the suspect rummaged through the inside and then exited without taking any items.

Director Rob Reiner and Wife Found Dead

Rob Reiner, 78 along with his wife, Michele Singer, 68, were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood, California home at approximately 3:30 p.m. (Pacific Time), December 14th.

Reiner’s son Nick, who has had a long battle with addiction, is being questioned by police.

Mr. Reiner began his career as an actor, notably famous for his role in the 1970’s sitcom “All In The Family.” He later went on to become a successful director and producer, with movies “When Harry Met Sally,” “Stand by Me,” and “A Few Good Men.” He was previously married to actress Penny Marshall, who passed away in 2018 due to complications with diabetes. They divorced in 1981.

Reiner married photographer Michele singer in 1989. The couple had three children together.

ICE Philadelphia Arrests Salvadoran Criminal Alien

WASHINGTON —ERO Philadelphia arrested Arnoldo Antonio Prieto-Lopez, a 51-year-old criminal illegal alien from El Salvador with a decades-long record, including a federal conviction for possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and a 24-month prison sentence, Oct. 20. Despite previously holding lawful permanent resident status, the criminal alien is removable under federal law and a clear threat to public safety.

“This foreign-born criminal alien has repeatedly abused children, victimized communities and exploited his immigration status,” said ERO Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Michael T. Rose. “He’s convicted of child cruelty and neglect, and trafficking fentanyl. He has endangered families and exhibited a pattern of criminal conduct over decades. Our officers will not allow criminals to hide behind immigration status. We will arrest, detain and remove those who threaten public safety.”

Philadelphia CBP Officers seize nearly 7 pounds of methamphetamine

PHILADELPHIA – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly seven pounds of Netherlands-bound methamphetamine on Tuesday that was discovered at an international shipping service facility in Delaware County, Pa.
An x-ray exam detected an anomaly in a parcel destined to an address in the Netherlands.

CBP officers opened the parcel and discovered a cloudy crystalline substance packed inside several zip-lock bags. Officers used a handheld elemental isotope analysis tool to identify the crystal-like substance as d-Methamphetamine hydrochloride.

Philadelphia Police Investigating the Suspicious Death of a 93-Year-Old Male [Vehicle Located]

Philadelphia police are investigating a suspicious death after a 93-year-old Black male was found unresponsive with lacerations inside a residence on the 4500 block of N. 16th Street on Friday, December 5, 2025. The man was discovered inside the residence at approximately 2:58 p.m., and medics pronounced him deceased at 3:05 p.m. Responding officers were notified that the decedent had lacerations to both the chest and head. The incident is being treated as a suspicious death pending the outcome of the investigation.

Gloucester Township Police Announce Charge Upgrade in Fatal Crash Investigation 12-9-2025

Lumberton Elected Official Indicted on Child Endangering/Abuse Charges

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that a member of the Lumberton Township Committee who was charged earlier this year with drunk driving and related offenses has been indicted on charges of failing to protect her young child who was in the car with her at the time of the incident.

Gina LaPlaca, 46, who presently serves as the Lumberton Township mayor, was charged by a grand jury with Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Second Degree) and Child Abuse (Fourth Degree). She is scheduled to be arraigned on December 8 in Superior Court in Mount Holly.

The indictment was returned November 20 and signed by Prosecutor Bradshaw.

Two Charged in Bordentown Township Double Homicide

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Bordentown Township Police Department Officer-in-Charge Lt. Frank Nucera III announced that two people have been charged with fatally shooting two men outside a Bordentown Township convenience store one month ago.

Justford Doe, 23, of Philadelphia, and Giovanni Varanese, 21, of Cherry Hill, were charged with Murder (First Degree), Conspiracy to Commit Murder (First Degree), Robbery (First Degree), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Second Degree), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Second Degree), Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons (Second Degree) and Eluding (Second Degree).

Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom Succumbs to gunshot wounds; Shot in D.C.

End of Watch: Thursday, November 27, 2025

Sarah Beckstrom succumbed to gunshot wounds she received when she was ambushed while on patrol near the Farragut Square Metro Station in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, a gunman walked up to Specialist Beckstrom and two other guardsmen and opened fire around 2:15 p.m. While he was standing over one of the guardsmen, preparing to shoot again, another guardsman returned fire, striking the gunman.

Specialist Beckstrom and the other guardsman were transported to local hospitals, where Specialist Beckstrom passed away on November 27, 2025. The other guardsman is in critical condition.

The suspect remains in the hospital recovering from gunshot wounds. He was charged with three counts of assault with the intent to kill while armed and criminal possession of a weapon, and will be charged with murder in the first degree.

Over 2,000 National Guard troops have been deployed to guard the United States capital since August 2025. They are sworn in and deputized with the United States Department of Justice – United States Marshals Service as certified law enforcement officers.
