Philadelphia Police Report the Following Shooting

The following information is preliminary and subject to change.
On January 30, 2026, at approximately 6:46 p.m., officers from the 39th District responded to a report of a person shot in the 200 block of West Chelten Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.
The victim was transported by police to a local hospital, where he was taken into surgery and listed in critical condition. Officers observed and secured a crime scene extending from the 200 block to the 100–200 block of West Chelten Avenue. Later that evening, a female suspect voluntarily reported to Police Headquarters and surrendered a firearm believed to be involved in the incident. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The firearm was secured. This information is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues with the Shooting Investigation Group. Updates will be provided as they are received.

Police Officer Senior Pradeep Tamang – End of Watch: Sunday, February 1, 2026

Gwinnett County Police Department, Georgia

Police Officer Senior Pradeep Tamang, 25, was shot and killed responding to a fraud and forgery call at the Holiday Inn at the 1700 block of East Park Place Boulevard in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

When Officer Tamang and another officer arrived at the hotel around 7:30 a.m., the subject invited them into his hotel room. While inside, the subject pulled out a gun and fired at both officers. One of the officers returned fire, striking the shooter.

Additional officers arrived on scene and rendered aid to the officers and the shooter. One officer remains in critical but stable condition. Officer Tamnag was transported to Northside Gwinnett Hospital, where he died from his wounds.

The suspect, who has multiple felony convictions and active warrants, was initially taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds and is in custody.

Officer Tamang had served with the Gwinnett County Police Department for almost one year.

Pennsylvania Man Charged with Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Woodbury, NJ – Sean M. Flohr, 26, of Levittown, Pa., is facing 11 charges including  sexual assault of a minor, endangering the welfare of a child, and child pornography possession and production, Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns announced. 

The State’s investigation remains ongoing, and authorities believe additional victims  may exist. Anyone with information or who believes they may be a victim on Flohr is  encouraged to contact GCPO Detective David Hickey at 856-384-5624. 

According to documents filed in this case: 

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit received a tip  regarding a post on Reddit where a minor inquired on assistance meeting an adult male  to engage in sexual intercourse.  

Based on the tip, detectives identified both the minor victim and the suspect, Flohr, and  contacted the minor’s guardian.

Truck Driver Sentenced to 6 years in Vehicular Homicide Case

Woodbury, NJ – Joseph Nyandwaro, 41, of Perland, Texas, was sentenced today to 6  years in State Prison by the Honorable William Ziegler, J.S.C., pursuant to a plea  agreement. Nyandwaro pled guilty to the charge in December.  

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in open court: 

Nyandwaro was driving a tractor trailer in Woolwich Township on June 22, 2025 when his vehicle collided with another tractor trailer. The second vehicle then  struck a barrier. Its driver was killed in the incident. With the assistance of the  trucking company, NJ State Troopers were able to locate Nyandwaro’s truck, which  appeared to have been painted to alter its appearance. Video recorded by the vehicle  depicted Nyandwaro crashing into the victim’s truck, sending the second vehicle  into the left concrete barrier.

Delran Man Receives Prison Time for Sexual Contact with Minors

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that a 23-year-old Delran man has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for having sexual contact with three underage girls and possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on his cell phone.

Under an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office, Keith R. Desousa Jr. pled guilty to three counts of Sexual Assault (Second Degree) and one count of Possession of CSAM (Third Degree). The sentence was handed down January 9 in Superior Court in Mount Holly by the Hon. Aimee Belgard, P.J.Cr.

Maple Shade Man Receives Prison Time for Child Pornography and Animal Cruelty Offenses

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that a Maple Shade man has been sentenced to six years in prison for possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) as well as engaging in sexual acts with dogs.

Hunter Roy, 27, pled guilty in September 2025 to Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Second Degree) and Cruelty to Animals (Fourth Degree). The sentence, handed down last week in Superior Court in Mount Holly by the Hon. Philip E. Haines, J.S.C., was the result of a plea agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office.

The case began in May 2025 after the Prosecutor’s Office received information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children concerning Roy’s online activities.

Philadelphia CBP Officers Bag $2.4 Million Weed Shipment Destined to the UK

PHILADELPHIA – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers intercepted a load of nearly 500 pounds of marijuana near Philadelphia on Jan. 6 that was being shipped from the state of Georgia to the United Kingdom.

During routine export inspections, CBP officers examined a shipping container consisting of 80 boxes manifested as clothing. The clothing was shipped from Decatur, Georgia, to an address in Oxford, England.

Officers opened a box and discovered marijuana in a vacuum-sealed bag. Officers then examined all 80 boxes and discovered that seven of the 80 boxes contained vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana.

Juvenile Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder of Florence Police Officer

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that a juvenile charged with attempting to kill a Florence Township police officer and assaulting two other officers early last year pled guilty yesterday in Superior Court and will be sentenced as an adult.

Under an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office, Fasihullah Safar, 17, of Alexandria, Va., will be sentenced to an 18-year term in state prison in exchange for guilty pleas to Attempted Murder (First Degree), Aggravated Assault (Second Degree), Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer (Third Degree) and Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Third Degree).

The case was elevated from juvenile court in September 2025 after the Prosecutor’s Office filed a petition to waive Safar up to adult status. The Hon. Aimee Belgard, P.J.Cr., scheduled sentencing for March 26 in Mount Holly.

Indictment Accuses Mansfield Landlord of Drugging, Molesting Tenants

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that a Mansfield Township man has been indicted on multiple charges related to drugging and molesting two men who rented rooms from him at his residence.

Craig Cardella, 60, entered a plea of not guilty yesterday at his arraignment in Superior Court in Mount Holly. A grand jury returned the indictments in December charging him with 17 counts of Kidnapping (First Degree), 18 counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact (Third Degree), 18 counts of Invasion of Privacy (Third Degree), 18 counts of Endangering Another Person (Third Degree) and one count of Stalking (Fourth Degree).

The charges apply to two victims who were assaulted during separate time periods which each spanned several months. Their names and further details are being withheld to protect their identities. The case will now proceed to trial.

Woolwich Man Found Guilty of Murder in 2021 Shooting of His Stepfather

Woodbury, NJ – A jury found Christian Smith, 27, of Woolwich, guilty of first-degree murder and second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose Tuesday following a two-week trial before the Honorable William Ziegler, J.S.C. According to documents filed in this case and the evidence presented at trial: On Oct. 9, 2021, Smith and his stepfather Dennis McKenzie, Jr., were arguing in their home over offensive comments Smith made about the sexuality of McKenzie’s daughter and her friend.
