BEACH RENOURISHMENT PROJECT IN NORTHERN OCEAN CITY TO BEGIN

 TRENTON (October 29, 2015)— The Department of Environmental Protection and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced the completion of the beach and dune portion of a $57.6 million project to construct beaches and dunes in Cape May County today, the third anniversary of Superstorm Sandy.

DEP Commissioner Bob Martin and Lt. Col. Michael Bliss, Commander, Philadelphia District of USACE, were joined this morning by Sea Isle City Mayor and Cape May County Freeholder Len Desiderio and other federal, state and local officials at 58th Street in Sea Isle City as machinery from contractor Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. began demobilizing. 

The Youth Pheasant Hunt is this Saturday, October 31. Eight WMAs will host guided hunts for pre-registered youth hunters in the morning, while two areas will be open all day. All areas are open after 1 p.m., and all areas will be restocked with additional birds for the afternoon. Youth hunters must be accompanied by a non-shooting, NJ-licensed adult.

CAMDEN CITY NJ (October 30, 2015)–Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Mount Ephraim Police Chief Brian Beppel reported a tax preparer is facing charges for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from a client.

Marc Mecca, 54, of Mount Ephraim, is charged with three counts of forgery and one count of theft by failure to make required disposition of property received.

BROOKLAWN NJ–On 10/28/2015 at 4:23 PM, Brooklawn Police were dispatched to the Brown\’s Shop Rite for the report of a male actively shoplifting in the store. Upon the arrival of the first officer, he observed the suspect physically fighting with store employees at the entrance. As the officer exited his patrol unit the suspect ran back into the store where a short foot pursuit took place prior to the suspect being tackled to the ground and taken into custody.

LONGTIME EYESORE WILL BE DEMOLISHED–The Market Street eyesore (above), at the border of Gloucester City and Mount Ephraim, will be demolished in the near future, according to KingsGate Realtor Patrick Bocchicchio, of Mt. Ephraim. Bocchicchio said the Knights of Columbus Chapter 3485 purchased the property from the state about five years ago. \”The organization wanted to renovate it and use it for a meeting place,\” said the realtor. Bocchicchio is the real estate agent for the property. CNBNews asked the realtor to talk with the Knights of Columbus about the condition of the property.

The TRICARE Health Plan has announced the 2016 premiums for TRICARE Young Adult Prime and Standard options covering beneficiaries between 23 and 26 years old. These premiums are adjusted on an annual basis and go into effect Jan. 1, 2016.

 For 2016, the monthly premium for TYA Prime is $306 per month, and TYA Standard is $228 per month. TRICARE is required to set these premiums to cover the full cost of health care received by TYA beneficiaries. For the first time since TYA was created in 2011, TRICARE has sufficient statistically valid cost data to set annual premiums.
