Judge Denies Request to Lower Bail for Female Carjacking Suspect

 

WOODBURY NJ October 16, 2015–A Superior Court judge today refused any reduction in the $100,000 bail of Maria Cruz-Santiago (DOB 3/9/71), of Philadelphia PA, charged with carjacking a vehicle in West Deptford on 9/29/15 and attempting to take another car in Logan Township on the same day.

Cruz-Santiago’s lawyer said she had been placed in the Ancora state psychiatric hospital after arrest, which he said \”indicates a likely defense.\” But she had been discharged from the hospital, he added. Logan Township police arrested her on Center Square Rd. shortly after the attempted carjacking.

College Baseball Cranberry in Four

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ—Cranberry defeated Black three games to one in the 2015 Cranberry-Black Series, held October 17 on the Sonny Pittaro Field.

The annual best-of-five series of three inning games brings an official close to the fall baseball season at Rider.

In Game 1 Cranberry won 2-1, with sophomore pitcher Nick Margevicius (North Royalton, Ohio/Saint Ignatius) getting the win. Margevicius struck out five Black batters in three innings. Junior Dalton Mayberry (Chadds Ford, PA/Garnet Valley), a transfer from Marist College, had a one-out RBI single in the ninth inning for the game-winner.
