Wanted for Home Invasion Sexual Assault

The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 26-year-old Lee Johnson, who is wanted for Aggravated Indecent Assault, Burglary, Unlawful Restraint, and related charges.

The primary incident occurred on June 4, 2026, at approximately 5:30 AM at a residence on the 2200 block of E. Somerset Street.

Johnson is described as a Black male, 5’10” tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with a last known address on the 6300 block of Horrocks Street. 

He was most recently seen near the 6100 block of Algon Avenue.

Man Sentenced to 10 years for Sexual Assault of a Minor

Saul Sosa, 39, of Deptford, was sentenced to 10 years in state  prison today by the Honorable Russell A. DePersia for second-degree endangering  the welfare of a child by sexual conduct pursuant to a plea agreement.  

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in open court: Sosa repeatedly sexually assaulted an underage female victim between 2015 and  2024. In a statement to the court, he admitted to inappropriately touching the  victim to sexually gratify himself.  

Sosa was originally charged with nine counts, including first-degree aggravated  sexual assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree  sexual assault of a minor, and both third- and fourth-degree aggravated criminal  sexual conduct. 

Sosa pled guilty to the second-degree charge and was sentenced to 10 years in state  prison, as well as parole supervision for life and registration as a sex offender under  Megan’s Law.

Looking Back and Marching Ahead: Three Years at Taylor’s Mill

“Someone called me and said there were stones in the road. I turned around, told them I was on my way, and asked my husband to grab the camera and meet me at the mill.”

Patricia Fisher-Olsen feared the worst after the Tewksbury earthquake in April 2024. The effort to save Taylor’s Mill was less than a year old: the site had been vandalized, a truck had run into the corner, and now parts of the mill building were lying in the middle of road.

Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting

Detectives are investigating a stabbing that killed a man in Camden on Saturday, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

On August 1, 2026, at approximately 2:53 a.m., officers from the Camden County Police Department responded to Cooper University Hospital in reference to a stabbing victim who had walked to the hospital and collapsed outside of the parking garage.  The victim, who was identified as 28-year-old Davinne Evans of Camden, was pronounced deceased at approximately 3:49 a.m.Officers subsequently located a crime scene in the area of Broadway and Stevens Street.

The investigation is active and ongoing.  No arrests have been made at this time.

Homicide Investigation

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Monday afternoon in the city’s 19th District.

At approximately 5:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of North 54th Street and Arlington Street. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body. The victim was immediately transported by responding officers to Lankenau Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 5:36 p.m.

The scene remains secured as investigators gather evidence. At this time, no arrests have been made, and no motive has been identified. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.

Sherrill Administration announces $165 million in FY27 County Aid

The Sherrill Administration today announced the release of $165 million in Fiscal Year 2027 County Aid to fund infrastructure improvements on the local level. The program is funded through the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund (TTF).

Stabbing Investigation

The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred this evening in the city’s 24th District.

At approximately 5:54 p.m. on August 1, 2026, officers responded to the intersection of Jasper Street and Clementine Street following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, police located an adult female suffering from apparent stab wounds. Officers immediately transported the victim to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing with East Detectives.

Scam Alert Targeting the Elderly

THE SCAM: The victim receives a phone call or text message from someone claiming to work for a bank’s fraud department. The scammer may say that bank tellers or employees are stealing money from customer accounts and that the victim must assist with a confidential investigation.

The victim is then instructed to:
• Withdraw a large amount of cash from the bank
• Lie to the bank teller about why the money is needed
• Keep the investigation secret from family members, bank employees, and police
• Place the cash inside an envelope, box, or bag
• Hand the package to a rideshare or delivery driver sent to the victim’s home OR drive to a convenient store and send the money through crypto currency.
