Congressman Van Drew recently celebrated news that the United States Coast Guard recruited its largest class in nearly 40 years, exceeding its recruitment goals for the third straight year.
“These are brave men and women who are answering the call to protect our nation, and they deserve the very best,” said Congressman Van Drew. “That is exactly why I fought so hard to secure over $400 million to modernize Coast Guard Training Center Cape May. Every enlisted Coast Guardsman begins their journey right here in South Jersey, and with recruitment reaching levels we have not seen in decades, this investment could not be more important. We are building new barracks and training facilities to prepare Cape May for this growth and strengthen the Coast Guard for generations to come. I could not be prouder that South Jersey is playing such an important role in serving our nation.”

The table may have changed, but the excitement of drawing cards, making decisions, and going head-to-head with other players remains.
That is where the GameZone Table Game experience comes in. GameZone places Filipino favorites at the center of its online gaming platform, with its current materials highlighting player-versus-player experiences for games such as Tongits and Pusoy.

ILA, TEAMSTERS & AND HOLT BATTLE FOR THE GLOUCESTER TERMINAL
Gloucester City, NJ (October 11, 2026) – In 1994, the Holt family tried to dramatically lower operating costs at their newly expanded Gloucester Marine Terminal in South Jersey. At the time, Master Contract wages for ILA dockworkers were significantly higher, and the union imposed strict work rules. According to the SocialistWorker.org newspaper, Holt bypassed the ILA entirely and signed a collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters Local 676, a New Jersey-based union that primarily represents truck drivers and warehouse workers, not deep-sea dockworkers. Under this new setup, Holt paid Teamster workers roughly $15 per hour to unload cargo and fruit ships. This wage was roughly half of the total compensation and benefits package the ILA required at the time.
When Thomas Holt Sr. quietly signed a deal with Teamsters Local 676 to unload the Scandinavian Reefer at the Gloucester Marine Terminal, word instantly leaked across the river. To the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), this wasn’t just a lost contract; it was an act of war that threatened to break their decades-long monopoly on the Delaware River ports.

For Jim O’Rourke, the road to the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon began with a challenge from someone he couldn’t say no to: his daughter, Grace.
An experienced marathoner, Grace was used to seeing her dad cheering from the sidelines at her races. This year, she challenged him to join her. Jim said yes, embracing the opportunity to take on a personal challenge, share an unforgettable father-daughter experience and raise funds for an organization that has been important to him for years, the Turn 2 Foundation.

Based on emails reviewed by CAIR-NJ, a parent who attended Back to School Night at the school reached out to Congressman Gottheimer’s office requesting their assistance with removing the sign.
