The Camden County Police Department will receive a $10,000 donation from The Cooper Foundation to continue and expand the CCPD’s popular Village Initiative.
“This generous donation from the Cooper Foundation will help ensure the CCPD’s Village Initiative will continue to be available to support the residents of Camden City, a program that has helped to strengthen the relationship between our officers and the residents they serve,” said Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. Investments like this allow us to build on those connections and ensure our officers remain engaged with the community.”
The Village Initiative supports Camden’s youth and senior citizens through programs such as senior bingo, open gym, Bookmates, dodgeball and flag football. The department also provides outreach to seniors in need and supports neighborhood cleanups, lawn care, community events and severe weather response, helping some of Camden’s most vulnerable residents.
