Sophie’s BBQ Expands to Philadelphia

Sophie’s BBQ is ready to bring their big bold flavors from the Main Line to Main Street Manayunk. Executive Chef/ Owner Greg Herman is teaming up with Melissa and Kevin Walter to fire up a full food menu inside the much-anticipated, coming-soon location for Love City Manayunk, at 4323 Main Street, in the former home of Fat Lady Brewing. The popular Havertown barbecue restaurant will offer barbecue favorites seven nights a week when Love City Manayunk opens later this spring. Menu selections will include Smokehouse Nachos, BBQ Sliders, Candy Bacon Mac, Pork Belly Burnt Ends, Briskey Cheesesteak, Smoked Vegetarian Meatloaf, BBQ Coffee Rubber Briskey, Pulled Chicken, Pulled Pork Shoulder, BBQ Platter, St. Louis Ribs, Collard Greens, Mac N Cheese, Butterscotch Cornbread and more. Herman started his career many years ago in Manayunk and looks forward to returning to the food scene there. Sophie’s BBQ will take part in Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival on Sunday, April 19th. He invites the community to come say hello, meet the Sophie’s BBQ team and preview select menu items ahead of Love City’s grand opening. Dishes that day will be pay-as-you-go. Love City Brewing will also be pouring outside that day. Sopie’s BBQ’s flagship location in Havertown will continue to operate, and soon will announce its biggest spring event line-up and a new menu soon.

Elizabeth Paprzycki, 95, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa

On March 29, 2026, at the age of 95. (nee Evanuk) Of Huntingdon Valley, PA. Formerly a longtime resident of Oaklyn, NJ. Beloved wife of the late Bronislaw “Bruno” Paprzycki. Loving mother of Joseph Paprzycki (Gus), Christine Mitses (Will) and Matthew Paprzycki (Cathy). Cherished grandmother of Christopher and Thomas Paprzycki and great grandmother of Ellie and Hunter Paprzycki. In addition to her husband, Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Suzanna Evanuk and her sisters, Josephine Sliwowski, Helen Sokolowski and Olga Derowski.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, April 10th at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Vincent Pallotti Church, 901 Hopkins Road, Haddon Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 PM in the church. Interment will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chews Landing.

Jefferson Health Cherry Blossom Run for Cancer Care April 26

Registration is now open for the inaugural Jefferson Health Cherry Blossom Run/Walk fundraiser on April 26 at 9:00 am at the Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital campus (2201 Chapel Ave W, Cherry Hill, NJ.)

Proceeds will benefit the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Centers in New Jersey, helping to expand access to advanced cancer care close to home in Cherry Hill and Washington Township.

“This event brings our mission to life in a visible and meaningful way,” says Tamara LaCouture, MD, East Region Chief of Cancer Services. “Every step taken supports patients who are navigating cancer with strength and resilience.”

Participants can choose between a 5K run or a 1-mile walk, with options for individuals, families and teams. Friendly competition, team spirit and even four-legged companions are all part of the experience.

Advanced registration is $40 for runners and $25 for walkers. Youth runners (12 and below) are $20 and youth walkers (12 and below) are free. Day-of registration will be available at $50 for runners and $35 for walkers. (Registration will start at 7:30 am.)

McCoach Drives in 5 as No. 7 Rowan Tops John Jay, 8-3 for 8th Straight Win

Evan McCoach drove in five runs with a pair of doubles as #7 Rowan overcame a slow start to defeat John Jay, 8-3, in non-conference baseball action. The win is the Profs’ eighth consecutive as they improve to 13-2. 

McCoach went 2-for-5 with the doubles, and scored one run, while reaching a career-high in RBI. Luke Bickunas and Jason Schooley drove in a run apiece, while Kyle Lamanteer and Joey Bogart each scored twice. 

Mark Grubb (1-0) earned the victory in the “bullpen” game, as he pitched a scoreless inning after the Profs took the lead. Miles DeVincentis made the start and went 3.0 innings, while Jake Andrey, Dane Samartino, Evan Brasberger, Jack Norton and Nick Watson also saw time on the mound.

Missing Adult Male Stephen Stankiewicz 3rd

On 03/30/2026, at approximately 8:14 PM, Stephen Stankiewicz III (DOB: 04/17/1976) was reported missing in Gloucester Township. He was last seen earlier that day, at approximately 1:00 PM, on Erial Road walking toward Hickstown Road. 

Stankiewicz is described as a 49-year-old white male, non-Hispanic, approximately 5’08”in height and weighing 120 pounds. He has gray hair, gray/white facial hair, blue eyes, and often wears glasses. At the time he was last seen, he was wearing a teal hooded sweatshirt with a black T-shirt over it, dark-colored pants, and black Nike sneakers.

Rothwein, Lockhart Lead No. 15 Rowan Past Catholic, 13-9

Madison Rothwein scored five goals and Fiona Lockhart added four as #15 Rowan defeated Catholic, 13-9, in a women’s lacrosse matchup. The Profs run their winning streak to five games while improving to 8-2 on the year. 

It was a career-high in goals for Rothwein, while Lockhart matched her personal best with the total, while adding an assist. Alexis Lowry was the only other Prof with multiple goals in the win. Kylie Durboraw made nine saves for Rowan as the teams were deadlocked with 18 shots on goal apiece. 

Although Catholic (5-5) took an early 2-0 lead, Rothwein got the Profs on the board just two minutes later and Lowry scored the tying goal before the end of the first quarter.

Winslow Township General Offices Closed April 3

Winslow Township announces that all General Offices will be closed Friday, April 3, 2026 in observance of Good Friday. 

Curbside trash and recycling materials will be picked up on normally scheduled days. 

You can still get answers to most of your questions by texting “hello” to 833-434-0700 to access the township chatbot “Ask Winnie”.

All NJMVC Facilities to Close for the State Holiday on Friday, April 3rd

 All New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) facilities, including agencies, road test sites, and inspection stations, will be closed Friday, April 3, 2026, in observance of the state holiday.

Regular operations will be in effect at NJMVC facilities the rest of the week, including on Saturday, April 4.

The Commission’s website at NJMVC.gov remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
