Gloucester Township Officers Arrest Suspect for Eluding Police Following Traffic Stop 4-13-2026

On 04/08/26 at approximately 11:33pm, a Gloucester Township Police Officer attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on a white Acura for motor vehicle violations on the 600 block of North Black Horse Pike in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township.  Upon activating emergency lights, the vehicle initially pulled over to the side of the road, and the female driver appeared to wave her documents out the window.  As the Officer was about to approach the vehicle, the driver accelerated from the stop at a high rate of speed traveling southbound.  The Officer chose not to pursue in the interest of safety to the public.

Gloucester City Doctor Edward Lundy Loses Medical License; To Be Sentenced In May

TRENTON (APRIL 14, 2026)(Cleary’s Notebook News) – Attorney General Jennifer Davenport, along with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, announced on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, that the State Board of Medical Examiners has permanently revoked the medical license of a Camden County physician following his federal conviction for conspiracy to unlawfully distribute controlled dangerous substances (CDS).

Edward Lundy, who operated a family medicine practice in Gloucester City, at 1017 Market Street, for over 40 years, admitted to conspiring with others to distribute more than 1,600 oxycodone pills outside the bounds of legitimate medical practice. He entered a guilty plea in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in January 2026 and is scheduled for sentencing in May. His office was raided by the FBI in July 2025.

Philadelphia Homicide Investigation

The following information is preliminary and subject to change; updates will be provided as they become available.

At approximately 1:21 PM, on April 13, the 14th District responded to a shooting on the sidewalk of the 6300 block of Chew Avenue. An adult male sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported by police to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 1:49 PM. At this time, there is no known motive, and no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing with the Homicide Unit.

Philadelphia Police Overnight Incidents

The following information is preliminary and subject to change. Updates will be provided as they become available. Additional incidents will be shared throughout the day as they are received.

On April 13, 2026, at approximately 12:13 a.m., a 46-year-old male victim walked into the 39th Police District suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was immediately transported by police to Temple Hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition with one gunshot wound to the chest area.

Seven People Shot in Union; One Died; Investigation Ongoing

UNION, NJ (CNBNews)(April 12, 2026)–At approximately 9 pm on Saturday, April 11, the Union Police Department responded to the Chick-Fil-A on Route 22 in Union (below) in response to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located seven victims, one of whom was subsequently pronounced deceased. The six other victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.  

This is an active and ongoing investigation. 

We now know that last night’s shooting in Union Township tragically claimed one life and left six others injured,” Governor Mikie Sherrill said Sunday. “Our hearts go out to the victim’s loved ones, and we are hoping for the full recovery of those who were injured.”

While no arrests have been made at this time, the preliminary investigation reveals this does not appear to be a random act of violence and that there is no immediate ongoing threat to the general public. We encourage the community to remain vigilant and report any information to UCPO Homicide Task Force Detective Edward Mack at (908) 347-2212, Sergeant Jennifer Smith at (908) 759-8254, or Union Police Department Detective Teon Freeman at (908) 851-5033.

Advances in DNA Link Suspect to Cold Case Homicides in Camden County

Camden County, NJ – DNA evidence has led to detectives identifying a Mantua Township man as the suspect responsible for the murder of two young women in the 1990s, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.

High School Teacher Charged for Sexual Relationship with Student

Runnemede, NJ – A teacher at Sterling High School has been arrested and charged for engaging in a sexual relationship with a student, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Runnemede Police Chief William Sampolski.

Jason D. Howe, 26, of Runnemede is charged with 2nd-degree Sexual Assault and 2nd-dgree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On Friday, April 3, 2026, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was notified by local police that a female student, who was at least 16 but less than 18 years old, reported having a sexual relationship with a teacher.  During the investigation, detectives determined Howe and the victim engaged in sexual intercourse at his apartment in Runnemede in March 2026.

Officer Involved Shooting/Overnight Incidents

Please note that the following information is preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues.

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at approximately 7:14am, two 18th District Philadelphia Police Officers responded to a radio call for a person with a weapon and a report of a family being held hostage on the 5400 block of Webster Street. Preliminary investigation indicates the 911 call originated from a phone registered to the decedent.

Upon arrival, the uniformed officers observed a male (later identified as the decedent) on the front porch of a residence. The officers, Officer #1 and Officer A, exited their RPC, at which point the male brandished a firearm, and raised the handgun in their direction. The officers took cover and issued multiple commands for the male to drop the weapon. The male discharged one round from his weapon. At that point officer #1 discharged her service weapon one time, striking the male.

Vineland PD Investigation Into Fatal NY Eve Traffic Accident Ends; Pittsgrove Man Jailed

VINELAND, NJ (Cleary’s Notebook News)(April 7, 2026) — The Vineland Police investigation into the death of Philadelphia Christian Pastor Lance Warren on New Year’s Eve concluded on Friday, April 3, 2026, resulting in the arrest of Donald Hunt Jr., 34, of Pittsgrove. Hunt had been free since the accident, pending the outcome of the accident investigation.
